This Site features the fantastic yodeling of Ken MacKenzie. Ken and his wife Simone were true country music pioneers, performing from 1936 to 1975. The MacKenzie's toured with their own show in the State of Maine, New England and Provinces of Canada. Also featured are other great Maine artists, many of whom are nationally known yodelers. Although MacKenzie Traditional spotlights classic country music, you will find many links to modern artists. Also included are two of Maine's country music organizations; Maine Country Music Association (MCMA) and Down East Country Music Association (DECMA). Both dedicated to preserving old-time and modern country music. When you visit the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame page, please take the time to read about each inductee. Most of the pioneers listed on the Down East Country Music Pioneers page have also been inducted into the Maine Hall of Fame.
